The Golden Oldies...

It just shows that you don’t have to be a twenty something to steal the show. Our golden oldies Josie Kaye, Jane Whalin, Lorraine Lisbon, Audrey Moseley, Margaret Mills and Marian Howcroft star alongside Dany Rogers as Winnie and Barry Worthington as Deaf Ted in the BBC series ‘Hebburn.’ Hilarious viewing! We can’t wait for series 2.

The Secret State

The Secret State, formally known as The Coup, starts tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm. Peter Abbott and Glen Peacock were featured artists as Close Protection Officers for the Prime Minister; filming in both London and Manchester. Other members of the Casting Division played MP’s, Mi5 Officers and Police Officers. The Secret State is a gripping conspiracy thriller with an all-star cast… What more could you ask for on a Wednesday night?

With its long and established musical heritage, Manchester is a city world famous for its music, producing top acts over the last forty years. With this in view it is only right that our good friends ‘The Last Party’ should be opening the Manchester Christmas lights switch on. This homegrown talent will be sharing the stage with Misha B and The Wanted this Friday the 9th November at 6pm in Albert Square, and we will be squidged in, supporting them from down at the front of the crowds. See you there!

Tonight on BBC2...

New series Hebburn starts tonight on BBC 2 at 10pm. It tells the tale of a newly married working class guy (comedian Chris Ramsay) who introduces his middle class wife to his rather unruly Geordie family. Starring Vic Reeves and written by Hebburn-born comedian Jason Cook, this is bound to be a great laugh and will star an array of Boss talent; from pub goers to residents in an old people’s home. Definitely one to watch.

Homefront - Coming soon...


Claire Skinner, Clare Higgins, Nicola Stephenson and Antonia Thomas head a fantastic ensemble cast portraying the remarkable wives and girlfriends of soldiers serving in war torn Afghanistan. Well done to all our artists who played numerous roles such as soldiers, musicians, wives and girlfriends. Many thanks also to the TA for all their help.

Award-winning actress Helen McCrory and Callum Turner bring to life this gripping character-driven story about the complexities of love, family and growing up. Filmed in and around Manchester. We shall be keeping our eyes peeled for the wedding scene in which many of our artists featured as guests, the bride, the groom, bridesmaids, ushers and photographers. Citizen Khan premiere...


New comedy sitcom 'Citizen Khan' starts on Monday 27th August on BBC One at 10.20pm. The artists who were involved had to attend a busy rehearsal period before live shows were filmed and the studio filled with a live audience! Very nerve-racking but great fun I'm sure. Well Done!

We’re trying to recreate the Stone Roses Spike Island concert in May 1990, so here are a few pointers of what to bring if possible and what not to bring...



MEN
Baggy T-shirts (borrow from your dad!)
Large polo shirts (borrow from your dad)
Baggy hoodies
Denim shirts (baggy/large size)
Check shirts (baggy/large size)
Tracksuit tops (baggy/large – borrow from someone bigger than you!)
Baggy Blue jeans – Gap Carpenters & boyfriend style are ok.
Shell suit bottoms/tracksuit bottoms/jogging bottoms.
Baggy shorts.
Any vintage trainers – Adidas Sambas/Allstars/Stan Smiths
                                    Puma States/Reebok Hi-tops
Or any old looking none named trainers.
Kickers
Doc Martin shoes or boots
Classic Timberland boots.

WOMEN
Baggy T-shirts (borrow from someone bigger than you!)

We are recruiting in LIVERPOOL for local forthcoming productions. Leading Casting Agency BOSS CASTING have provided background artists to the film and television industries for over 30 years.  Having a long and successful history, our numerous clients include HOLLYOAKS, CORONATION STREET, SHAMELESS, THE ACCUSED, MOVING ON and FRESH MEAT amongst others. Our artists worked on recent feature films THE DAMNED UNITED, SHERLOCK, CAPTAIN AMERICA, and THE LOST CHRISTMAS.

There are exciting film projects emerging in the Liverpool and Manchester areas and we URGENTLY need to recruit local film extras.  This is paid work, and you’ll enjoy the excitement of being on set with other experienced professionals.

WE WILL BE RECRUITING IN LIVERPOOL ON MONDAY 27th FEBRUARY at

SPIKE ISLAND - THE FILM 
EXTRAS WANTED


SYNOPSIS
A coming of age drama set in Manchester in May 1990.

School is nearly out for summer (and forever) for our lads - five Stone Roses fans from Manchester.

Nothing will stop our boys from seeing their heroes on stage. This is the story of their journey to Widnes and the 72 hours across which their friendships are tested and their future is shaped -together or apart.

A nostalgic snapshot of Britain in the early 1990's this is a fictional story set against a real event - The Stone Roses legendary SPIKE ISLAND gig of May 27th 1990.

EXTRAS WANTED
We are looking for people of all ages (over 16) / shapes / sizes to be part of the upcoming Feature Film ‘Spike Island’. 


We are filming all over the North West from Greater Manchester to Liverpool.
